A Mallorquin family estate outside of Campos, Mallorca is nestled among almond trees and expansive low rolling hills. The main historic house is rustic and unplanned, yet beautiful and awe inspiring. The neglected yet solid barn to the East of the house is to be transformed into the living quarters/guest house for the sons. Natural light fills the spaces with roof skylights, avoiding as many facade interventions as possible. Anchoring the East end is a new 2-story addition that is the private nucleus of the structure. Between the kitchen and this addition can be found the central fireplace and chimney, so central to the Mallorquin family spaces.
